Suhag (ਸੁਹਾਗ)

Suhags are sung in the bride’s household after the wedding date is confirmed and as the family starts preparing for the impending separation. These soft-lilting melodies are meant to be a medium of expression for the coy bride who is otherwise unable to express her inner turmoil of emotions.
